Thap Environmental Policy

In: Company Policy

At Thap Ltd. we create and support time and cost saving, database driven, web and software applications. A major aspect of our business is utilising, to its fullest advantage, current technologies to deliver to our clients products of the highest quality. In the most part, these technologies have little or no impact upon the environment and in some cases can have a positive effect, reducing or replacing paper based communications and travel.

However, we recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. This occurs in a variety of ways and where suitable and possible, we will look to minimise any potentially detrimental effects we are causing to the environment.

As a consequence of this, the management are committed to continuous improvement in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution. Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance. To that effect, we have produced a comprehensive policy statement which will enable us to set the targets by which our efforts towards sustainable environmental improvement can be monitored.

To ensure full understanding, appreciation and implementation of this policy throughout the company, it will be issued to all new employees and is regularly referred to within internal communications. Thap Ltd is committed to environmental sustainability through a programme of continual evaluation and improvement.

In particular Thap Ltd. will:

  1. Meet, and where appropriate exceed, all environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice
  2. Promote recycling and the use of recycled materials, while reducing consumption of materials wherever possible
  3. Promote the use of public transport and car sharing schemes
  4. Encourage elimination of unnecessary printing and publishing
  5. Where viable, utilise ‘carbon neutral’ schemes
